Το άρωμα των χίπις… Ένα από τα πιό παρεξηγημένα αρωματικά συστατικά, προερχόμενο από την Ινδία, σύνηθες όμως σε πολλά δημοφιλή αρώματα τόσο σε μεγάλους όσο και σε εξειδικευμένους οίκους!
Τη δεκαετία του ’60 και του ’70 οι χίπις άρχισαν να “φοράνε” το άρωμα αυτό σε μεγάλες ποσότητες χρησιμοποιώντας όμως πολύ συχνά φτηνές απομιμήσεις. Αυτό δυστυχώς είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα να αποκτήσει κακή φήμη το άρωμα και να συνδεθεί με πολύ βαριά και δυσάρεστη οσμή!
Το πατσουλί είναι ένας όμορφος πράσινος θάμνος της οικογένειας της μέντας.Το επιστημονικό του όνομα είναι “Pogostemon cablin” από τις ελληνικές λέξεις “πώγων (pogon)” και “στήμων (stemon)”.
Ο αρωματικός, ξυλώδης και γλυκός χαρακτήρας του ελαίου συνδυάζεται άριστα με ξύλινες και ανατολίτικες νότες ενώ η μυρωδιά του αποστάγματος βελτιώνεται με τον καιρό καθώς γίνεται πιό πλούσια και πιό φρουτώδης. Ταιριάζει υπέροχα όμως και με τη λεβάντα!
Το αιθέριο έλαιο πατσουλί όπως και κάθε ανατολίτικο άρωμα προσφέρεται για χαλάρωση και διαλογισμό. Ανακουφίζει από το στρές, το άγχος, την κατάθλιψη και το πικάντικο άρωμά του θεωρείται αφροδισιακό.
Έχει ισχυρές αντιμικροβιακές, αντιμυκητιακές και αντιοξειδωτικές ιδιότητες ενώ βοηθάει στην ανάπλαση των κυττάρων της επιδερμίδας προσφέροντας λάμψη και αναζωογόνηση.
